  Experian growing in Latin America Tightening of credit standards in the US slowed the growth of Experian 's (EXPN) US business in the final quarter of its 2017 financial year, going against the prevailing trend. Overall, revenue in the North American business was up 7 per cent, most of which was generated organically. Xiaomi launches in North America via Mexico Chinese smartphone superstar Xiaomi has just set up shop for the first time in North America . But, no, it isn’t in the US . True to its word, it isn’t yet ready to dive head-on into the US market. Instead, it is bringing its Redmi 4X and Redmi Note 4 smartphones to Mexico, aiming for a market where its blend of mid-range specs and dirt cheap price can better work its magic than in major markets like the US. Cemex opens cement plant expansion in Guatemala Cemex LatAm Holding (CLH), Cemex’s regional operating company in Latin America , has completed the expansion of cement production and bagging capacity at its Arizona plant in Puerto de San José , Guatemala . Following improvements to the plant’s milling operations and the installation of a new US$3.7 million bagging line, the company expects cement production capacity to increase by 10% to 0.545 million tpy, while bagging capacity is expected to increase by 46% to 95 tph. FedEx Express inaugurates Logistics Centre in Panama FedEx Express has inaugurated new FedEx Logistics Centre in Panama Pacifico to expand its presence in the Latin American and Caribbean region. The facility has temperature-controlled capabilities of 15ºC-25ºC and 2ºC-8ºC; capability for modular expansion and flexible enough to expand under the same roof; free-trade zone. In addition, the centre offers specialised logistics operations services for warehouses capable of optimising receiving, storage, product and customer care, and product transfers. The services are targeted to specialized sectors such as technology, healthcare (medical devices and pharmaceuticals), the automotive industry, telecommunications, electronics and retail. “FedEx offers clients global access backed by local experience in an effort to promote international and domestic trade in Latin America and the Caribbean ,” said Juan N.
